How to choose an area rug
Start with the room's job, then compare size, pile, color, and care needs. A good rug should fit the furniture plan and the way the room is used every day.
Which pile is right?
Plush and shag pile rugs add softness to bedrooms, reading corners, and low-traffic areas. Lower-profile or printed styles can be easier to place around dining chairs, doors, and busy walkways.
How should the color work?
Use the largest fixed elements in the room as your starting point: flooring, sofa, wall color, and curtains. A patterned rug can become the focal point; a quieter rug can balance a room with strong furniture or artwork.
What should I measure?
